Big Brother
Gus (registered name "Da's Gus" - or as we like to call him "Gusasaurus") is a twelve year old registered Percheron gelding. He stands a wee 17.2 hands tall, weighs in close to a ton, wears a size 7 horse shoe, uses 6 inch bit and yes, his tack has to be custom made. He drives, rides, leads, loads, you name it. We acquired Gus in 1999 at the age of 4, out of Ault, Colorado. Julie, along with some help from a friend of hers, broke him to ride at that time.

Since then, Gus has appeared and performed in Parades, Rodeos, Drill Teams, Charity Trail Rides (where he always brought in the most pledges), Grand Entries at Frontier Days in Cheyenne, English Pleasure and Equitation Shows, various newspapers, featured in the Percheron News magazine the summer of 2001 and most recently had a full page photo appear in the September 2007 volume of Today's Horse Trader for the article 'Creating Lightness'.
Gus has many accomplishments under his belt (or should I say cinch?) and excels at just about anything we try. One of their most memorable moments was his first place win in the Great Falls All Breeds Show last summer, beating out 12 other riders in the Maiden Walk-Trot English/Western Equitation class.
Gus is a very willing and accommodating boy - the sturdiest mount you could ever ask for and a true companion. His favorite thing is . . . well, anything edible of course, scratches on the neck and any kind of water he can splash and play in. We couldn't ask for a better horse who will do anything you ask of him. We love him with all their hearts - and so do most people who meet him!
