Spring of 2006 in Montana. It is still pretty cold so we are still wearing our winter coats but at least we can play with big brother Gus

August of 2006 in Montana. Nikko had just turned two and had his very first show since his foal keuring. Not bad for his gangly adolescent stage

May of 2007 in our new home in Colorado after a long snowy winter. Nikko is just starting to let go of his winter coat and you can see the black dapples coming through and wow - look at all that hair!

Nikko's first show of 2007 was in July where he was not quite 3 years old but hubba hubba, sure is filling out nicely - and no shortage of hair either. He won 1st place in halter for stallions and geldings 3 and under and then followed that by winning Grand Champion Halter for all stallions and geldings. What an accomplishment for our little man!

A local show for Nikko in late July of 2007 where he took 1st place - look at that shine!!

August 24, 2007 was the Region 8 IFSHA Championship Friesian Horse Show. Here we are preparing for his liberty class where he took 4th place.

look at that beautiful neck!

barely the age of 3 here, Nikko sports his gorgeous floor length tail, shoulder length mane and silky black coat. Both the judge and ring steward complimented Nikko as being the best mannered friesian at the show. We were very proud of him.

Nikko of Noble named Grand Champion for the Region 8 Friesian Baroque Halter Championship class in August 2007.

Another 1st place win for Nikko at a local show in September, this one by two judges.

Nikko and his trainer await their final show of the season on September 16, 2007

The competition is stacking up and tensions are high.

All said and done, Nikko took 1st place for Stallions and Geldings 3 and under and took Reserve Grand Champion for Stallions and Geldings all ages beating out 15 other horses. More to come!!
